2-3's Nursery

Our 2-3's room cares for 12 children at any one time. The children enjoy a wide range of activities including messy, imaginative, language and creative play. We plan our activities following the Birth to Three framework which is soon to be replaced by the Early Years Foundation Stage

We have a role play room to allow children to experiment with different activities in a safe environment and a quiet activity room where children can use a computer and learn through games and jigsaws.

In our large play room we have a construction corner with an interactive display area to allow children to leave a piece of work they are particularly proud of on display for everyone to see. We have a writing area which gives children freedom to make marks and experiment with different media to improve and develop their fine motor skills as well as an interactive display board to allow them to put their work up. The nursery also has a separate small world area (dolls houses, farms etc). Children have full access to all the resources within the room and they are encouraged to choose for themselves and so develop their freedom of choice. We have a separate messy play room where they can play with sand, water, paint, collage, shaving foam, custard or junk modelling.

This group also has access to the garden in which we have climbing frame, sand, water, bikes, scooters and balls. The garden is soon to be extended to have a sensory area to include a play house, water feature, planting area and painting wall.
