Toddler Nursery

Run under the direction of our under 2's supervisor this room has two qualified nursery nurses supported by trainees. They provide activities to challenge and stimulate the children. This part of the nursery is divided into two separate rooms. The large room has a quiet area for children to have a lie down if they need to (although all children have their own sleep mat and sleeping bag). They also have a large selection of books that they can access at any time. Toys are also at children's height for them to select their own activities. All of our toys are selected to be appropriate to both the age and ability of the children, as well as to be of interest and fun for the children.

We follow the Birth to Three Early Learning Curriculum in this room. Planning of activities is provided to help children in our care reach their full potential.

Our second room within the toddler unit is a messy playroom. In here children can glue, paint, play with sand and water and use all manner of creative resources. Children also eat in here; the special furniture allows them to be kept safe and secure with the space yet able to become independent when feeding themselves.

The toddlers have access to our garden and double pushchairs to go for walks. We are in the process of constructing a sensory playroom and toddlers and babies will have full access to this new room.
